Why glamping is something you should be considering for your wild wedding!

We’re sharing the top questions you should be asking about bell tents and glamping for your wedding, our answer’s are bursting with information and inspiration to help you envision canvas bell tents at your special day!

Why are glamping villages a good idea for my wedding party?

Weddings with alternative venues are amazing, you get to design your very own space tailored to your vision. Sometimes the only downside can be that the space is missing accommodation, alternative accommodation options like glamping can provide the perfect solution.

When you work so hard to create the most beautiful day of celebrations it seems a shame not to stretch the celebrations across the weekend. Glamping hire is the perfect addition to any event, offering affordable two night accommodation for your guests, without the need for them to book taxis or hunt for hotels close by!

Inspired by the 2019 Wedding Trend ‘Vibe Over Palette’ this bohemian shoot was set amongst our cosy bell tent, grazing tables, peacock chairs, reclaimed wood dining areas and the dreamiest of bridal suites. Bell tents supplied by www.pitch-boutique.co.uk

Are glamping villages just for Festival themed weddings?

Absolutely not! Any wedding which has an alternative venue like a barn, marquee or tipi set up, which doesn’t offer accommodation for the whole wedding party can benefit from glamping villages. Providing the venue has the outside space to offer!

We love to get creative and work to different themes, we worked on a wedding in the summer which was very floraly and rustic so we brought in crisp floral sheets and vintage apple crates. We’ve got another this summer which is monochrome so we’re working on some macrame pieces and black and white cushions.

How long before the wedding should couples book glamping?

Ok so the time of year, size of the glamping village and the location of your wedding are all factors suppliers will consider when you enquire.

If you are getting married between October and April there is often less notice needed to reserve bell tents as it is not peak season – however not all glamping companies offer services through the winter!

I would say that around 12-18 months ahead of your wedding is a good time to first get in touch with suppliers. You can then get a good balance of quotes from companies, get a feel for the glamping styles and qualities on offer and decide what best fits with the feel of your wedding.

What sort of questions should couples ask their glamping company?

Terms and conditions  are a bit of a mine field with any wedding supplier, here’s a few key things to look for:

  • What are their payment terms? You will probably be looking at a 25% deposit and then final payment 6 – 10 weeks prior.
  • Do they take a security deposit?
  • Breakages charges
  • Is delivery, set up and collection included?
  • Length of hire – it might be beneficial to add on an extra days hire if affordable so they’re all set up the night before the wedding. One less thing to worry about!
  • How flexible are they to make changes? We all know what it’s like, your auntie from Devon changes her mind 2 weeks before – can you get your money back?

How can couples on a limited budget incorporate glamping villages into their wedding?

Some companies offer the opportunity for guests to book and pay directly to themselves, so you don’t have to deal with any admin or pay any money to the glamping itself. We can work this way by giving you a reference code for your guest to quote when booking to be added to the wedding party. It’s simple and no stress for you!

What things will the glamping company need to know about the venue?

This will massively vary from company to company, but the general basic questions will be similar to this.

  • Firstly, do you have permission from the venue?
  • What is the access like? Is there a tight entrance and are there any restrictions on vehicles on site?
  • Is the ground level?
  • How much space is there for the glamping village?
  • Is there much outdoor lighting for guests?

How many tents can you hire?

This will depend on the space you have to work with, your guest numbers and your budget. Some companies will have a minimum hire depending on your location and similarly some companies might not have enough tents for you.

What does glamping include?

Well glamping stands for Glamourous Camping so expect nothing less! Different suppliers will have varying packages but expect mattresses or blow up beds with duvets, pillows etc. Not many suppliers will be able to provide power and this would have to be discussed with the venue also. When placing your enquiries it’s good to compare the contents of the glamping packages to make sure your getting the best suited package.

How could I make the glampers weekend even more glamorous?

Speak to your glamping supplier, because depending on what they offer in their packages you could create some cool memorabilia from your wedding for your glamping guests. From water bottles and prosecco flutes to keep them hydrated to hoodies and hot water bottles to keep them warm.

The beauty of glamping at your wedding is it stretches the celebrations across the weekend so you won’t feel like it’s all over in a matter of hours. You could organise a really lovely breakfast the day after your wedding, the perfect hangover cure and opportunity to gossip!
